Why should my charity register on Toucan Collect with our JustGiving account?
Registering on Toucan Collect with your JustGiving account is quick and simple as we already have your bank account details on file. Funds will be paid to you alongside your other JustGiving donation, and will show up in your JustGiving reports. If we’re acting as your charity’s Gift Aid agent, we’ll also claim gift aid on your behalf.
If you do not register with a JustGiving account, you will need to include these donations in a Gift Aid claim you submit to HMRC directly.
What are the fees associated with Tap to Donate?
The monthly fee is £9.95 per license (device). Monthly fees only apply when donations exceed £12 in any given calendar month, meaning you are only ever charged the monthly license fee if you raise more than the license cost
Additionally, a 5% JG processing fee will be deducted from the donation amount
How is Gift Aid claimed?
Donors can scan a QR code on the confirmation screen to add Gift Aid to their donation. This data is pushed through to JustGiving enabling us to include the donation details in a subsequent gift aid submission to HMRC. This also registers donors on the Swiftaid scheme, automatically opting the user in for Gift Aid on future donations made in the current tax year, via JustGiving and Toucan Collect.
Can donations be made in different currencies?
Currently, only GBP £ donations are supported. We hope to be able to support Euros and USD $ donations in the future.
Can donations be made to Fundraising Pages or Campaign Pages?
Currently, only direct donations can be made to the charity. If you'd like contactless donations to be attributed to a Fundraising Page or Campaign Page at present, they'd need to be added as raised offline. We’re looking at extending tap-to-donate to Fundraising Pages and Campaign Pages in the future.
How are donations paid to the charity?
Donations made via the mobile app will be paid to your charity alongside your other JustGiving donations (as direct donations). You will be able to identify these donations in your JustGiving reports under the following columns:
Product Source = Liberty Pay (stripe)
Payment Type = Contactless
Third Party Reference = {transactionID}

What reporting is available?
In addition to your JustGiving reports, that can be used to identify donations made via the app, you will have access to a dashboard within your Toucan Collect account. This will show you the amount donated to each of your campaigns in real time.
