JustGiving from Blackbaud with disbursements through the Blackbaud Giving Fund
If your organization is receiving disbursements through the Blackbaud Giving Fund we will not charge a platform fee on donations made to your organization. Instead, we give donors the option to make a voluntary contribution to the cost of maintaining our platform should they wish. The standard credit card processing fee (2.9%) still applies.
How will it work on a typical $100 donation processed through the DAF (US Only)?
- Someone donates $100 to their friend's fundraising page or direct to your charity.
- The donor is offered the opportunity to leave a voluntary contribution to help cover the costs of operating the platform.
- We deduct the payment processing fees of 2.9% (on a $100 donation this would be $2.90)
- Their $100 donation becomes $97.10 and is disbursed to your organization following your applicable disbursement schedule, whether or not the donor opts to leave a voluntary contribution.
What fees apply to cryptocurrency donations processed through the DAF (US Only)?
We apply our standard credit card processing fee on cryptocurrency donations made on the JustGiving platform: 2.9%.

JustGiving from Blackbaud With Blackbaud Merchant Services
If your organization is processing on BBMS JustGiving deducts a 5% platform fee and payment processing fees from each donation made through the site. Donors are offered the option to cover the 5% platform fee so that more of their donation goes to your cause and you raise more money.
How does it work on a typical $100.00 donation? Donor does opt to cover platform fee. (US Only)
- Someone donates $100 to their friend's fundraising page or direct to your charity.
- The donor does opts to include an additional contribution to cover the platform fee, which increases the full amount charged to $105
- Payment processing fees are deducted from the full $105. On BBMS, the fee varies depending on the type of card used.
- We deduct this from the $100 donation and the net amount is disbursed to your organization following your applicable disbursement schedule.
How will it work on a $100 donation processed on Blackbaud Merchant Services? Donor does not opt to cover platform fee. (US Only)
- Someone donates $100 to their friend's fundraising page or direct to your charity.
- The donor does not opt to cover the platform fee so the total amount charged remains at $100
- We deduct the 5% service fee on the donation (on a $100 donation this would be $5.00)
- Payment processing fees are deducted. On BBMS, the fee varies depending on the type of card used.
- We deduct the platform fee and the processing fee from the donation and the net amount is disbursed to your organization following your applicable disbursement schedule.
Please note, if the donation currency is different to the currency of which the donors bank account is held and/or if the donor is donating to an organization in a different country - the card holder may incur additional costs by their bank including conversion costs or international fees. This is not done by JustGiving and this fee is variable across banks i.e. If my bank account is in the AU and I make a donation to a US charity in USD, I may incur a conversion cost and/or and international fee.
