Updating your charity's details

You can update the following from within your charity account:

  • Your charity's registered address and contact phone number. We use this for administrative purposes only.
  • Your charity's contact email and web address. These show on your JustGiving profile page.

How do I update these details?

Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your charity account
  2. Go to the Settings tab
  3. Click on Edit charity details to update your charity address and the contact details displayed on your public profile page

How do I update our charity’s name?

If your charity’s name has changed but your registration number is staying the same, contact the Charity Support Team as soon as possible. We’ll update your account for you.
 

Before contacting us, please check your charity regulator’s website to make sure the new name is already shown publicly. 

 

How do I update our charity’s registration number and/or HMRC (Gift Aid) number?

Please use our contact form and select “Update my Charity's Registration and/or Gift Aid Number”. Submit your new details there, and we’ll take care of the update for you. Once it’s done, we’ll email you to confirm.

A few things to be aware of before submitting your new details:

  • If you’ve been given a new charity registration number*, or if you’re changing to a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation), we can update your existing JustGiving account. There’s no need to create a new one.
  • If both your charity registration number and your Gift Aid number are changing, it’s best to wait until you’ve received both new numbers before contacting us. We’re unable to claim Gift Aid using a new charity number with an old HMRC number.
  • Please check your charity regulator’s website to confirm that it publicly lists the new organisation and registration number as the successor to your current charity. 
  • If the regulator’s website hasn’t been updated yet, please include a legal document that confirms the change has occurred. This could be minutes from an AGM or a Transfer of Assets document. This helps us verify the update and avoid any delays.

 

 

*Please note:

If we are not informed of your new charity registration number before the old number is de-listed on the Charity Commission register, this will result in the cancellation of your charity account and removal from JustGiving.
