Your trust and the security of your supporters’ online donations are important to us. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously. It provides you and your supporters with additional reassurance that JustGiving’s processes around account security will mitigate risks with financial transaction processing.
This includes verifying the identity of persons of significant control at your organisation. For most charities, this will be Trustees, but can also include Directors/Executives, Board Members, Financial Controllers or Treasurers.
What do you need to submit?
- Two of your organisation’s Board Directors/Trustees, their date of birth, and home address
- A copy of their valid photo ID (passport or photo driving licence – front and back)
- A copy of their proof of address document dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement or Local Property Tax letter)
- A copy of your charity’s governing document
If your organisation does not have Trustees, we will require details from two people in positions of responsibility/control within your organisation, such as Director/Executive, Board Member, Financial Controller or Treasurer.
Your charity’s governing document will be the legal document which outlines how your charity operates. For example,depending on your set-up, this can be a constitution, trust deed, or articles of association.
The data you share with us will be processed and stored in compliance with GDPR regulations. This includes being stored on a secure database which will only be accessed by the JustGiving compliance team for the sole purpose of complying with data and financial regulations, and law enforcement agencies upon request. We will also securely share this information with our payments partner, solely for the purpose of complying with data and financial regulations. It will not be used for marketing purposes.
Where can you submit this information?
To submit this information, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/charities/settings. You’ll be asked to log into your charity account on JustGiving. Then you’ll see a link saying ‘submit your Trustee data’ – click on this link to be taken to a secure form where you can enter your charity’s Trustee information.
To submit this information on behalf of your organisation, the person will need to be a registered user of your JustGiving Charity Account with admin permissions. Click here to find out more about adding new users to your account.
