What are the benefits of the new Meta partnership for your charity?
The partnership between Meta and JustGiving allows Fundraising Pages shared on Facebook to display a "donate" button directly within the post. This is a BETA feature and makes it easier for supporters to contribute, increasing the reach and potential donations for your charity.
How do we get the donate button to appear in posts for our charity?
If your charity is registered with Meta and the charity number we have on file matches Meta’s records the ''donate'' button will show in posts viewed in the Facebook Mobile App.
What should we do if the donate button is not showing?
If the ''donate'' button is not showing, ensure your charity is registered with Meta fundraising tools. The charity number JustGiving has on file must match Meta’s records. You can check the charity number registered with JustGiving by visiting your Charity's Profile Page.
How can my charity register with Meta.
Apply for Meta’s fundraising tools to raise more money here.
How do Fundraisers use the new sharing feature?
Fundraisers can easily share their JustGiving page on Facebook by going to the share module on their Fundraising Page and clicking the relevant icon. This will create a post with a ''donate'' button linked to the Fundraising Page and your charity. Fundraiser's can also create a post directly in Facebook and share the URL of their Fundraising Page.
What if we registered with JustGiving using an HMRC reference and don’t have a charity registration number?
Unfortunately, this new feature is not available for charities registered with JustGiving using an HMRC reference number only, as these cannot be matched to Meta’s records.
Will the integration work for charities and non profits registered outside England & Wales, such as SC0 or 501(c)3 organisations?
Yes, if your charity or nonprofit is registered with Meta and your registration number matches what JustGiving has on file, the ''donate'' button will show on posts regardless of regulatory body or country.
