We will always do our best to supply you with simple snippets of code so they are are easy to embed in your website. But, adding content to third party websites can often involve bespoke steps as mandated by the content management system in question.
With HTML 5 now prevalent across most modern browsers, the <embed> tag has taken on more significance. The <embed> tag defines a container for an external application or interactive content (a plug-in or widget).
Note: Many web browsers have supported the <embed> tag for a long time. However, the <embed> tag has not been a part of the HTML 4 specification. The <embed> tag is new in HTML5 and will validate in an HTML5 page. However, if you use it in an HTML 4 page, the page will not validate.
- Make sure you have copied the snippet of code correctly and that it’s copied to your clipboard
- Open up your content management system (CMS) of choice and open up the HTML viewer
- Paste the HTML snippet you just copied into your HTML viewer window. Then click OK or Save.
- Be sure you're not pasting it within another snippet of code -- otherwise you will see errors on your web page. This step is the same regardless of content management system.
